The water level in lake Ontario is down and much lower than normal, so the level in the Bay of Quinte and the Trent upstream to Trent Severn lock 1 (Trenton) are also down. The water is also way down between lock 3 (Glen Miller) and Lock 4 (Batawa), and is so far down that the stop logs on the control dam upstream of the Sonoco Mill have been removed.

With the water so much lower than normal you can really start to get an idea of how the locks work, how they were made, and how fragile the entire Trent Severn is…
