Another section of empty land – a common sight in Ontario, especially in areas where the the land looks like it’s probably not good for much other than trying to find a lost dog or abandoning an old pick up truck. The land may not be good for farming, but it’s valuable land for a very different reason.
There are adjacent sections of land that are flatter and much more suitable for farming.
The fields are empty, the farm buildings are empty, and the houses are empty.
Most people drive past this area at 80 kmh and never give it a second thought if they look at it at all.
That’s just fine with the Department of National Defence as the lands beyond the trees on the low ridge will be the new home for Joint Task Force II (JTFII) and the Harper Government has expropriated the lands, the buildings, and the homes that were once filled with memories.
