A last view of the lock

One last trip to Lock 5, Frankford, on the Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site of Canada.

The Harper Government budget cuts have resulted in severe reductions in the staffing and operating hours of the locks, as well as a shortening of the season. It’s almost like the new hours have been planned to discourage people from using the waterway – and that’s a shame as this is part of the history of Canada.
