The previous week we had bought a basket of local strawberries from a farm market while heading back from Toronto, and decided that we could strike another item off of the Ontario bucket list by going out to pick strawberries. Yum.
The fields had some cute little critters to mark off where people had finished picking berries – we started between the owl and the ladybug.
I managed to find a grocery store that was open on Canada day, and also carried the little cake cups that you can use to make a strawberry shortcake type of desert. Although the cake things are store bought, the whipped cream will not come out of a can – nope, my KitchenAid mixer will whip some real whipped cream to go on top of my yummy treat.
It had been about 40 years since I last went strawberry picking so I celebrated the occasion by creating a panoramic image of the fields.
