Snow on the field
I drive up and down Island on a regular basis and have come to think of the drive in terms of landmarks rather than kilometers. I find that it helps break up the monotony somewhat and breaks the drive into manageable sections that give me something to look forward to other than arriving at my destination in another four hours.
The giant gnome at the gas station south of Northwest Bay Road is one of those landmarks, and when I happen to stop there, the view down onto the fields is another – or is it a small moment of beauty as a reward?
Maybe it’s both for me…
