British Columbia burns – Saltery Bay
The forest fire season of 2015 generated thick layers of smoke that coloured the sky, and obscured the sun. There was also a thick layer of fly-ash that settled on the surface of the water.

Mayne Island – a smoked filled Active Pass
Looking across Active Pass from Miners Bay on Mayne Island toward Galiano Island as one of the BC Ferries heads toward Vancouver. The smoke from the forest fires burning in British Columbia interior was pretty nasty.

Mayne Island – a smoke filled day
Looking across Active Pass from Georgina Point on Mayne Island to Galiano Island. The smoke from the forest fires burning in British Columbia interior was pretty nasty.

Smokey evening – Active Pass
I spent some time at Georgina Point on Maybe Island while watching BC Ferries ships heading through Active Pass Island. The sky was hazy and gray, filled with smoke from forest fires burning in the British Columbia interior.
